Why it'd be fun to have a girl...

Author: Kristin On 1/19/2012
As a mom of a boy, I kind of want another boy, but I kind of want a girl too. Having been a boy mom for a year and half, ...it's just magical. I think a boy mom can only understand what I mean. And I would love to have a little brother for James to grow up with but to have a daughter? It's kind of hard for me to imagine. I can see myself raising only boys but we will see what God has planned for us. Because it could be a little girl.

But it's probably a boy.

But just in case, I've already decorated her nursery. In my head, of course.

I LOVE this Tiffany Blue and Pink nursery. It makes me swoon. I love every little bit about it:

I love that it is not the standard pink walls and floral pink bed set. I love that it is only accents of pink. And blue is actually my favorite color.

I just think this mama did a fantastic job. You can drool over her nursery post with me here.

Too

I love, love, love this button art from Letter Perfect Designs. I would have it matching the nursery though.

I am obsessed with the framed fabric in this nursery. You could have SO MUCH FUN with this project!

These pillows from Buffalovely are gorgeous and so fun for a baby girl.

The subway art with her name and date in there somewhere would be fantastic.

I love how there are actual fabric flowers pinned on the wall!

Too much pretty! SO as you can see, I love the Tiffany-Robin's egg blue walls with pink and floral accents. How did you decorate your baby girl's nursery? Did you do traditional? Or a little unconventional?

That top nursery picture is stunning! I have a little boy and am expecting a girl... TOTALLY thought/expected it was a boy until I went into the u/s and they told me... you never know! :)

I'm not even pregnant with #2 yet and I already think it's a boy, hah! I think once you have one, it's hard to imagine having anything but! I can't wait to hear what's baking in there :)

love all these pictures! I pinned a few of them :)
Since we were having a boy & couldn't agree on bedding, I let my husband choose the nursery bedding & colors but I like the way it turned out! If we have a girl next I def want a vintage theme though. Find me on Pinterest- I have a ton of photos you'd like (the blue & pink accent nurseries) on my Baby board. love u!

I know EXACTLY what you mean! WE found out #2 is another boy, but I'm still hoping we'll get lucky with #3! I love Elliot but I've always pictured myself raising a little girl. I guess we'll have to wait and see what God has planned!

So pretty. I love being a boy mama and if we do have another child I often hope it would be another boy. But, all the pretty that would come with a girl would be SO much fun!

Love those nurseries! I was a boy mom for over 2 years and now we have a girl due in less than a month, I'm still getting used to switching gears, but it's a lot of fun to shop both sides of the store.

We did a light aqua room, with mirror/chrome accents and coral pink splashes of color.

I wish I had the time and energy to do a framed fabric area like that one!

When I was preggo I wanted a boy so badly I was a little sad when we found out Evie was a girl and now I can't imagine any other way. I mean duh, of course that is the way it is. Either way you will be richly blessed. :) We did Evie's nursery in a neutral paint and it is mostly green and antique white with pink and red accents (Lady Bugs). I think if we have another and it is a girl I will go more girly girl on it!

Before we found out we were having another boy, I had planned out a purple vintage nursery for a little girl. I loved it, but I'm excited to not be doing it :)

I know what you mean about being a boy momma. It's so special! I'm excited to see how it's different with a girl.

I absolutely love the button art and the fabric flowers on the wall. I don't know what I'll do for Quinn's room. We move when she will be 2 month's old, so I'll just have to buy stuff and set it up when we move. Bummer huh! With C his room was already done by this point.

I loooooove those colors! So pretty. I'm also a boy mom and can't quite imagine having a little girl. But I do have three nieces, and they're pretty darn fun.

I love aqua! Our nursery is aqua/lime/white. Even before we knew it was a boy I knew I wanted aqua. It would look great paired with yellow or pink or purple.. It's my favorite room in the house!

You are so right - being a boy mama is magical! I never would have thought that before having a boy, but like you, it's hard to imagine raising girls now. Plus, I work in a high school and the idea of actually having a teenage girl someday kinda terrifies me ;)
